What You Should Know about General William Ward?

 

General William Ward is a retired former four-star U.S. Army General officer who currently lends his expertise in strategic diplomacy and development at the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition. General William Ward is one of over 200 three and four-star generals and admirals that make up the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition National Security Advisory Council. The National Security Advisory Council represents all five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, and its goal is to advance national security by strengthening diplomacy and development as well as defense.

Throughout his decorated career, General William Ward has exemplified hard work, teamwork, and leadership. This is why he was named the inaugural Commander of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM). As the Commander of AFRICOM, General William Ward was responsible for leading an interagency command that was responsible for all U.S. defense and security activities on the continent of Africa, and ensuring they were harmonized with U.S. diplomatic priorities.

Prior to being named Commander of AFRICOM, General William Ward served as the Deputy Commander of United States European Command. Before that, he was assigned by Condoleezza Rice, who was the Secretary of State at the time, to be United States Security Coordinator to Israel and the Palestinian Authority in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. Overall, General William Ward has the esteemed honor of being an army commander, commanding at every level from platoon as a Lieutenant to geographic command as a General.

Additionally, throughout his career, General William Ward has received many different military awards for distinguished performance of duty:

Today, General William Ward remains very busy. He is the President of SENTEL Corp., which is a major engineering and logistics subsidiary of Vectrus Corporation providing governmental clients with leading tech and logistics services to enhance their performance. General Ward also devotes significant time and money helping youth in need, educating them on what it takes to be the future leaders of America – whether on the battlefield or in their local communities.
